The last two rounds of bargaining has organized the bargaining team and actively bargained local contracts with no strips and gains such as, working from home during exams, part-time teachers have all their work pro-rated, more experience recognised for grid movement.
Advocates for members' concerns and suggestions to our Provincial Executive regarding central table bargaining such as grid length, COLA and benefits
Engages members' participation in multiple ways to contribute to their local bargaining team and brief
Timely and relevant communication to ensure members know how bargaining is progressing
Has completed the Osgoode Certificate in Labour Law and the Osgoode Labour Law in Negotiation program, both through York University.
Provides multiple points of contact for members to express what they want from their Union
Supports the creation of new committees to ensure all members have safe spaces to participate
Advances opportunities to our TBU Council and AGM so members can have a voice in their Union's priorities
Runs our social media platforms OSSTF, Halton Teachers' Bargaining Unit (FB), district20teachers (Instagram), and OSSTFD20TEACHER (Twitter)
Promotes many opportunities for members to be engaged in their Union such as the unDinner Party for Halton Women's Place, Toronto Pride, Status of Women Conference, Communications and Political Action Conference, Protective Services Conference
